2023 Main Stage Line-Up Announced!

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The line-up for our wonderful main stages has now been announced!

Taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, the Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival has been bringing the streets of Colve alive for over 30 years. At Colne Blues Society, it’s been our pleasure and privilege this year to work with Colne Town Council in planning and programming the live music for the festival’s main stages, along with the thriving Fringe circuit, which seems to grow year on year!

This year, we’re excited to introduce a new main stage – The Exchange Project. Acting as a replacement for The Muni, which was unfortunately unavailable for the 2023 festival, the Exchange Project space and hall are both great community assets. “We’re really excited about bringing this new stage into the mix for the 2023 festival,” says Colne Blues Society Festival Coordinator, Simon Shackleton. “Its ongoing ties with local community groups and charities makes it just the kind of enterprise CBS is looking to be involved with.”

The Exchange Project Stage will host a mixture of electric and acoustic acts throughout the weekend. Most of these acts have graced Blues Festival stages in the past, with some having appeared on The Muni stage in previous years.

“We’re really pleased with the line-up we’ve put together for this year’s festival,” says Simon. “Across our two main stages – the Exchange Project Stage and the Pendle Hippodrome – festival goers will be treated to Blues Award nominees and winners, some familiar favourites, some promising new faces, and a few cherished local bands, who have been prolific followers of the festival throughout their careers.

“We’re cracking on with programming for our incredible Fringe circuit and will soon have the line-up announced for all 12 Fringe venues, so keep your eyes peeled for that!”
