Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • Information pertaining to musical acts who have displayed an interest in performing at any event co-ordinated by us;
  • Information pertaining to any person who has displayed an interest in becoming a supporter of Colne Blues Society; and
  • Information pertaining to any person who has contacted Colne Blues Society with any other query.

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • WooCommerce – The provider of our online shopping platform; and
  • Facebook – Messages sent and received via the Facebook Messenger service

We use the information that you have given us in order to:

  • Process and ship orders made on our online shop;
  • Contact musical acts to engage their services in events co-ordinated by us;
  • Process applications for supporter’s of Colne Blues Society; and
  • Respond to any other queries 

We may share this information with Colne Town Council.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting our Legal & Compliance Officer, Rebecca Sykes. Please email admin@colnebluessociety.co.uk. Website consents can be removed personally by clicking the link at the bottom of any page.

Your information is securely stored. 

We keep information pertaining to musical acts who have expressed an interest in playing at events co-ordinated by us, or have played at events co-ordinated by us for 5 years following their initial contact, unless they have expressed a continuing interest in working with Colne Blues Society Ltd. We will then dispose of information by removal from our digital contact list and by shredding and safely disposing of any hard copies.

We keep information pertaining to supporters of Colne Blues Society for 5 years following their initial contact, unless they have expressed a continuing interest in renewing their support. We will then dispose of information by removal from our digital contact list and by shredding and safely disposing of any hard copies.

We keep information pertaining to data collected by our online shop (hosted by WooCommerce) for 5 years. Information is then automatically deleted by the WooCommerce platform and we will shred and safely dispose of any hard copies retained by us.

We keep information pertaining to queries made to Colne Blues Society Ltd for 5 year followings their initial contact. We will then dispose of information by removal from our digital contact list and email server and by shredding and safely disposing of any hard copies. 

We cannot erase any information which is retained by third party messenger services (I.e. Facebook Messenger) and note that any information will be disposed of via their owns terms of use policies. Your data protection rights

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
