It is with the deepest sadness that we have to share the news of the passing of Mike Rivers. Mike, along with his late wife Sylvie, was the person who relaunched the Crawdaddy Club well over a decade ago, revitalising a historic venue in its original home, and forming it into one of the most beloved and friendly spots in the UK Blues scene. Friendship defined Mike and will be the abiding memory of all those who knew him during his time running the club, those he gathered to help in the day-to-day running of the club, and those musicians and fans who found a home at the venue. He will be greatly missed, most of all by his family, sons, and grandchildren to whom we send our greatest condolences. He will also be missed by the many who came to know him through music, and by a British blues scene who have lost a vital and driven part of the fabric. From all of us in the team, Simon, Ulli, Angie, Julia and Ian, rest easy and rest well Mike, you’ve earned it.We will share details of his funeral as soon as we are able. 💥 ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT… Dave Arcari! 💥We are delighted to announce that the fantastic Dave Arcari will be performing on The Little Theatre Acoustic Stage on Saturday 24th August.SLIDE guitarist & songwriter Dave Arcari’s alt.blues sounds owe as much to trash country, punk and rockabilly as they do pre-war Delta blues and have been showcased via seven internationally-acclaimed solo album releases.A finalist in the UK Blues Federation’s UK Blues Awards 2023, Arcari has had his music featured in numerous BBC TV programmes as well as popular USA series The Deadliest Catch. The ultimate validation for Arcari’s music and performance came in 2019 when National Reso-Phonic Guitars launched the ‘Dave Arcari signature model’ guitar. Arcari joins an elite and exclusive group of players who have signature models and is the first – and only – musician outside the USA to be honoured by the iconic instrument maker whose name is synonymous with the development of the blues genre.Get your tickets today 👇www.bluesfestival.co.uk/tickets/Colne Blues Society Colne Blues Club Lancashire Blues Archive Blues in Britain Blues Matters Magazine See MoreSee Less
