The incredible Gwyn Ashton – artist page will perform at the 2024 Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival! ๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿ’ฅGwyn Ashton, one of the hardest working and powerful one-man bands, is back touring a new solo album titled Mojosoul and a brand new single Get Outta Town with Guns Nโ€™ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus and members of Australian bands Cold Chisel and Superjesus. Ashton is on the top of the list of the new wave of modern blues rock artists, as spearheaded by The Black Keys, Jack White, Seasick Steve et al. A first class entertainer he oozes stagecraft and showmanship, combining songs and stories from a road well-travelled with dextrous guitar playing, blasting out drum beats on Bill Wardโ€™s old Black Sabbath drum kit, grinding fuzz bass lines with his thumb while he viciously attacks his guitar with a bottleneck slide, singing and blowing blues harp into a lofi radio microphone. Inspired by the likes of Hendrix and David Lindley, his โ€œguit-arsenalโ€ includes a rack full of electric and acoustic instruments including lap slide, resonator, 12-string and old pawn shop guitars. โ€œThe most versatile performer weโ€™ve hadโ€ – Deep Ellum Blues Club, Dallas, Texas. Come and see him for yourself right here in Colne on Friday 23rd August! ๐Ÿ‘‡www.bluesfestival.co.uk/tickets/Colne Blues Society Lancashire Blues Archive Blues in Britain Blues Matters Magazine Colne Little Theatre See MoreSee Less
